Friends Re-unite at the Bealach-na-Ba Challenge

After the Bealach-na-Ba Challenge was so successful last year with an appearance on the BBC's "Adventure Show" it was no suprise this years event sold out in four days. Over 500 cyclists will gather in Kinlochewe to attempt one of the hardest events on the UK's growing cyclo-sportive calendar. 90 miles and over 3000ft of ascent over the UK's biggest road climb - the Bealach-na-Ba. It rises from sea level to nearly 2000ft in only six miles and has recently proved a magnet for sporting cyclists looking for an Alpine test on home soil. Many entrants are 'old faces' from last year, out to better their previous times.

The event has the support of local communities with the villages of Kinlochewe, Lochcarron, Applecross and Shieldaig all contributing to the success of the event. Cyclist from all over the UK and abroad (including Columbia) have praised the warm welcome and hospitality that they receive during their Highland sojourn. Many return for a more gentle visit with their families, having been so impressed with the dramatic scenery in the area.
